Otherwise, the veggies and apples are just fine for dipping into the delicious cheeses. Not all locations have gluten-free bread, but I'd recommend calling ahead to ask - and even finding out if you can bring your own. I recognized it was "Against the Grain" baguettes, cut up into small cubes for dipping. where we dined had gluten-free bread for us. Our table was large enough to have three "burners," so we selected three different cheese fondues to try: the spinach artichoke cheese fondue, the cheddar cheese fondue, and the traditional swiss cheese fondue. There are SIX different cheese fondues to choose from. For the first course - the cheese fondue - Melting Pot substitutes cornstarch for flour and Redbridge beer for "regular" beer in their gluten-free versions. They have a gluten-free menu, but frankly, there isn't much on the "regular" menu Celiacs can't have. But I was happy to volunteer for the hardship duty of testing out the menu to make sure it was "good enough" for him to enjoy another time! Unfortunately, the 7:30 dinner was too close to my 7-year-old's bedtime, so I didn't bring him along. I had the opportunity to try out the new gluten-free menu last week during a dinner with the DC Celiacs group. That may be changing now, as Melting Pot's new gluten-free menu makes it one more place our family can safely dine with our son who has Celiac Disease. Unfortunately, my visits to Melting Pot were few and far between - never often enough. It's such a fun and unique experience.having a long, relaxing meal with friends or family while enjoying both the savory as well as sweet fondue courses: cheese fondue, main course, and the never-to-be-forgotten chocolate fondue. For this meal, I went with some of Conor and my favorite fondue fixings chicken, steak, shrimp, potatoes, and sauces like green goddess, curry, and gorgonzola inspired by all of our favorites at The Melting Pot fondue restaurant in Louisville, CO.I've always loved Melting Pot fondue restaurants.I remember going to one almost 20 years ago. You can do so many things with it, and can create a meal that is sure to please almost anyone. And even more importantly, I love how delicious it is.įondue really hits so many different points as far as flavor, texture, sensory appeal, and food variety go. I love how interactive and fun it is to sit around the table and prepare your food together. I, however, have always been a big fan of it. Fondue always seems to have connotations that relate it back to the 70s and to some it may seem like such a dated meal. It was the perfect meal for us to have on our ‘date-night-in’ after a great day of hiking. Fondue is so comforting and rustic and you get to enjoy so many different flavors, textures, and ingredients. There’s nothing quite like a fondue dinner, especially when you’re in the mountains and it’s homemade. It left us both so appreciative of the world around us, and also quite exhausted and ready for a big, delicious meal back at the house. It was such an incredible hike that brought us up to two gorgeous lakes at the top. We went on an amazing hike on Saturday to Eaglesmere Lakes, which is just a little bit north of Silverthorne. ![]() ![]() This past weekend, Conor and I headed up to the mountains with our dog, Molly, to take in the stunning scenery and enjoy a little weekend getaway. One of the best parts of living in Colorado in the fall is beautiful scenery all around us. ![]()
